Joel Karsten

Joel Karsten has been an insurance broker for over twenty years, specializing in commercial and personal lines. He started his career at Federated Insurance, where he worked for four years, before joining Crane Insurance Agency in 2004. He was named a shareholder in 2008 and has served on the board of directors since 2012.  He is currently the Executive Vice President of Crane, where he is involved with the operations and growth of the agency.

Joel graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 1999, where he majored in criminal justice and business management, while playing basketball for the Mules.  He was President of the Missouri Athletic Club in 2013 and Sunset Country Club in 2022.

Joel lives in Des Peres, Missouri, with his wife Kerrie and their two children, Katelynn and Ben. He enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities, playing golf, and watching his children’s athletic events, especially basketball.
