Ed began his insurance career in October 1989, with an insurance company that specialized in writing Personal Insurance. Ed spent eleven years with this company including 5 years as District Sales Manager managing a territory with 4 offices and a staff of 17 people. After his time in management Ed returned to production, running his own agency and was instrumental in helping the carrier launch a new office in Arnold, Missouri.
In January of 2001, Ed decided to make a career change to become an Independent Insurance Broker. After a brief time building his clientele with a start-up agency, he joined Corporate Insurance Management (CIM) in 2004 and ultimately became a part of the Crane Agency when CIM merged with Crane in November 2005.
During the last 16 years, Ed has worked with business owners of all sizes and in many different industries. He has a passion for working with small business owners, who typically have 100 or fewer employees. Ed feels small business owners are central to the success of our economy and are underserved by the insurance industry. He enjoys the opportunity of working directly with the owner and building a long and mutually beneficial relationship.
During the last 10 years, Ed has developed a passion for insuring churches. He works with churches of all denominations, and all sizes. He currently has church clients in 4 states with congregations ranging from 35 members to over 5000 members. In 2012, Ed launched Church Insurance Management (CIM), a marketing division of the Crane Agency. CIM focuses on growing the relationship of the Crane Agency and Church Insurance Management with the religious community.
Ed is active in his community and his church. He is married to Robby, and they have two children. Ed and his family have been members of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Arnold since 1996. Ed is active in a number of organizations, having served more than 15 years as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America. When Ed and Robby have free time, they enjoy traveling, hiking, biking and following their favorite sports teams, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
