Scott started his insurance career in 1994 with a national direct writer providing personal lines insurance coverage.  Being a business owner himself, with the ownership of Scott’s Lawn Care, he was pulled into the commercial insurance arena in 1996 where he worked with a leading specialty direct writer in the St. Louis territory catering to the auto, construction, petroleum and retail industries.  During his first 6 years in the insurance industry Scott developed his skills and knowledge every year and earned recognitions such as Commercial A1 Status, Large Account Specialist, Certified Financial Agent, LUTCF and CIC designations, and he also took many hours of continuing education courses to advance his knowledge in efforts to better serve his clients.

In 2002 Scott was presented an opportunity to bring his years of education, service and knowledge to a local large agency.  Scott achieved the Top Producer Award in 2003 after only one year with his new firm.  Continuing his education he became WEDGE certified and worked with various associations in the construction, petroleum and manufacturing industries to bring risk management tools to their association members.  It is here that Scott started to niche his passion with the love of sports and the great outdoors after seeing that the outdoor industry and the minor league sports arenas needed support and guidance in quality sound risk management.  He began to work with the Arena Football Leagues, the Pop Warner/National Football Little League associations, and local shooting ranges.

As an insurance broker and with a great love for the outdoors, he continued to follow his passion by developing Best Shot Insurance.  He aligned himself with the Crane Agency to enhance his markets and support his current clients. The opportunity has served his clients well and has brought him great recognition as a leader in the industry.  Scott has been recognized by several carriers as being in the Elite 8 broker/agencies in the US and number 1 in top production in 2014.  He has also worked with several carries on advisory positions to help them design, implement, modify and enhance the products they offer to the outdoor industry.

Scott learned when he started his own lawn care company that what he does has to be in the best interest of his clients by providing them with the level of service they deserve.  He has been an owner/partner or majority investor in several other companies where he gained the insight of what his clients face each day in their own businesses.  This helped Scott understand that he needed to be a value-added partner with his clients so they felt they could trust and rely on him to protect their investment, their livelihood, and their future.

Scott’s personal interests include hunting, fishing, volunteering for the outdoor not-for-profits, coaching football, and training with his kids and watching them excel in their academics and sports abilities.  Scott graduated from Duchesne High School in St. Charles, MO.  H obtained a bachelors degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Northwest Missouri State University where he was captain and MVP of his football squad.
