Human Resources Generalist

Here’s an overview of what you’ll be doing in your exciting, new career as a Human Resources Generalist at Crane:

  • Serve as back up to the HR Director when HR Director is out of the office or in meetings.
  • Oversee all aspects of 401(k) administration to include producer 401(k), employee 401(k), profit sharing, non-discrimination testing and other related 401(k) administration updates.
  • Oversee all aspects of FMLA and ADA administration.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation administration and reporting.
  • Perform payroll administrative tasks to include ACA administration, total compensation statements, overhead reports and assist with year-end payroll administration tasks.
  • Perform benefits administration tasks to include benefits open enrollment and census information, LTD/group life salary redetermination, Medicare notification, benefit reduction memos and assist with year-end benefits administration tasks.
  • Manage agency emergency plan, assignment of safety wardens, safety warden supplies, CPR/First Aid training and safety warden communication updates.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and schedules photos for agency website.
  • Assist HR Director with high-level strategic projects such as writing various procedures, keeping abreast of compliance and regulations, handling personnel issues, terminations and other strategic initiatives.
  • Assist Human Resources Assistant as needed with engagement tasks and any additional tasks necessary.
  • Draft and send Weekly Word outlining various HR topics, birthdays and anniversaries.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have complete knowledge of human resources laws, practices and procedures. A SHRM or HRCI designation is preferred.

Candidates must be customer focused and possess a friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to help others. Excellent prioritization, verbal and written communication, professional telephone manner, attention to detail and follow up is required. Candidates must contain strong analytical abilities, effective problem-solving techniques and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to work additional hours as necessary in peak season.

Commercial Insurance Account Manager – Downtown St. Louis, Chesterfield and Springfield, Missouri Locations

Here’s an overview of what you’ll be doing in your exciting, new career as a Commercial Lines Insurance Account Manager at Crane:

  • Manage a commercial insurance book of business by providing commercial coverage expertise and a high level of customer service to valued clients.
  • Prepare new business and renewal submissions (Acord applications, risk narratives, photos, site diagrams and loss runs). Submit them to carriers or Crane’s Marketing Department. Follow up to insure timely responses, check all quotations for accuracy and coordinate with the insurance broker throughout the process.
  • Assist clients in making appropriate coverage changes; inform and educate clients about coverages, exclusions, exposures and audits; document agency management system.
  • Provide technical support to insurance broker(s) to include survey policy coverages and identify cross-selling and upgrading opportunities.
  • Prepare quotations, coverage summaries/comparisons, proposals and recommendations needed to insure clients’ understanding of coverages.
  • Perform all account transactions for commercial accounts including applications, ID cards, proposals, summaries, audits, endorsements, certificates, binders, cancellations, follow-up and correspondence using the agency’s management system.
  • Responsible for billing, accounting, and various Excel spread-sheeting tasks.
  • Manage claim process including reporting and follow up.
  • Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail and company requests on a timely basis.
  • Utilize agency management system to maintain files and process transactions on all accounts to avoid E&O exposures.

Qualified candidates must have complete knowledge of commercial insurance practices and procedures of an agency and the industry. An active Missouri producer’s license in good standing is required.

Commercial Lines Insurance Middle Marketing Representative

Position Summary : Work with production units to obtain the broadest insurance coverage at the lowest price with financially sound carriers while building strong and long lasting relationships with those carriers.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Provide consultation to Producer(s) of the commercial lines marketplace, along with each carriers’ products, service and overall level of competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with company underwriters and marketing personnel.
  • Assist Producer(s) in providing quality submissions, making recommendations as appropriate to improve the overall quality and likelihood of success.
  • Advise Producer(s) about commissions by line of coverage.
  • Market and place assigned new and renewal commercial insurance accounts on a timely basis.
  • Keep Producer(s) informed throughout the marketing process through utilization of marketing record reports.
  • Bind coverage per Producer(s) instructions and provide documentation to Producer and Underwriter.
  • Review application to clarify ambiguous information and point out essential underwriting information that may be missing.
  • Effectively use online rating programs.

Qualifications and Skills:

Qualified candidates must have complete knowledge of commercial insurance products and worker’s compensation rating systems. An active Missouri/Illinois Producer’s license in good standing is required. Candidates must be customer focused and possess a friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to help others. Excellent prioritization, verbal and written communication, professional telephone manner, attention to detail, and follow up is required. Candidates must contain effective problem-solving techniques with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Build relationships with clients and assist them with their personal insurance needs.
  • Manage a personal lines book of business by providing timely and professional day-to-day customer consultation.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, producers, and insurance company representatives.

  • Consult with clients regarding policy changes, updates, and coverage questions including potential bundle saving opportunities.

  • Work with insureds who wish to cancel in order to retain the business.
  • Confer and negotiate with company underwriters to save underwriting cancellations and remarket as necessary.
  • Possess knowledge of current underwriting requirements of contracted insurance carriers.
  • Sustain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes in those provisions.
  • Keep informed of new sales programs.
  • Perform all account transactions including applications, quotations, ID cards, endorsements, binders, claims, renewals, follow-up, and correspondence in agency management system.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client files in agency management system.
  • Develop your expertise by attending various educational seminars/classes.

Qualified candidates must have complete knowledge of personal lines insurance underwriting and rating, as well as experience with auto, home, boat, and recreational policies. Comprehensive expertise of insurance practices and procedures in the industry is a must. An active Missouri/Illinois Property & Casualty Producer’s license in good standing is required.
