Benefits Account Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Demonstrate an effective and efficient use of workflow procedures by properly conducting the sale and installation of all benefit products.  Provide both group and individual benefits support.  Possess the expertise to assist the Producer in achieving the level of service refquired by his/her clients.

 

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

1.          Maintain complete client files in Applied by following Crane workflow procedures.

2.          Manage all aspects of the clients’ benefit policy.  This includes quoting, creating       spreadsheets and/or proposals, and handling the renewal.  Manage all servicing aspects which include answering insured questions, meeting with clients, and assisting with claims/billing/enrollment issues.

3.          Attend training sessions sponsored by the insurance carriers as well as meet with insurance carrier representatives to maintain communication and stay current with changes to products, commissions, and/or procedures.

4.          Update Producer of any changes to a carrier’s products, commissions, and/or  procedures.

5.          Keep updated carrier files for unit.

6.          Read trade publications to stay apprised of current trends within the benefits arena.

7.          Call clients 3 months after enrollment/renewal to keep lines of communication open.

8.          Call clients 3 months prior to renewal to discuss upcoming renewal and options.

9.          Execute follow through to make sure projects are done accurately and timely.

10.      Keep open communication (share information) with teammates; be a team player.

11.      Prompt and reliable attendance required.

 

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

      1.     General filing, which may require reaching and lifting.

      2.     Perform other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education/Experience:        A college degree or equivalent in a related field; must have prior experience with an insurance brokerage agency or a benefits carrier.

 

Licensure/Certification:       Must have current Life and Health license held in Missouri and/or Illinois.

 

Personal Characteristics:   Candidate must be outgoing and friendly; must be adaptable to a fast paced environment; candidate must be detail oriented, organized, and able to multi task.
